so, i was soaking in the bathtub (mmmm!) and i got to wondering. bathtubs are awfully short. why is that? ten dollars and cupcake to anyone who can explain. And i don't want the smart ass answer about the practicallity of large tubs in small living space. I want the real answer, sordid details and all. Perhaps mr. bathtub inventor made it smaller in order to appear more well endowed when bathing in front of mrs. bathtub inventor? perhaps mr. cruise had one specially made so he wouldn't have to share with the first mrs. cruise, and then it became trendy? thats probably not it. take your best guess. surprise me. surprise yourself.
as if there was any doubt - my brain is a strange place to live :)

My best guess is that while tubs are great for drawing baths the majority of people take showers. Showers standing up while water hits you. Water and soap equals slippery surface. When you are lifting your leg to get out of the shower you are putting yourself at a sligt risk. Raise the tub ledge too high and you are standing on one foot for a second too long... pow. Down for the count.Further proof of this is bath specific tubs tend to have higher walls. High enough to either lay down in or for two people to frolick if they so choose.

I expect those cupcakes to be drawn on US funds come December.
